How does this even happen??!
I am about to list my home in Cranberry Twp as I have decided to move back to Beaver County. Beaver County is where my builds are and I want to be closer to where I work. The next Bitar Home will actually be for myself.
I am looking at the homes in my neighborhood to in order to gauge a good list price. Before I list my home though, I am putting in new kitchen countertops, a new sink, a new gas range (it’s electric now) and putting new hardware on the kitchen cabinets. I also painted the garage about a week ago.
I am doing these things in order to get the most in resale value for my home.

It’s not a bad kitchen at all BUT I know that a brand new gas range and new quartz countertops with new hardware will increase the sale price of the home by about $20,000. It’s going to look like a new updated kitchen when I am done. It looks nice now but it’s a little dated. The cost for doing these updates? $5000. It’s a no brainer.
So as I am looking at comps in my neighborhood I stumble upon a house that is right by me. It is currently on the market. How this home was ever Brought to market with what looks to me like purple walls everywhere is beyond me (pics below). The sellers are leaving thousands upon thousands of dollars in resale value on the table. It’s so unfortunate. I understand that most home sellers don’t want to put the capital in to do certain updates because they either don’t know good contractors or don’t have the money. I get that.
This is why I started Home Renovation Heroes. We will figure out the best approach to update a sellers home and then carry out the work AND cover the cost until the home sells. Does it get any better for home sellers??!! Not really.
